Hindustan Unilever Limited - Clinic Plus Shampoo with Egg Protein

The Consumer Complaints Council (CCC) viewed the TVC which shows a mother combing the hair of her daughter while the daughter asks ‘who makes the hair strong?’, her mother replies ‘protein’ and on further questioning by her daughter the mother says that egg has protein. The CCC was of the view that egg does give protein, and the character in the advertisement does not say that only egg is the source of protein. The CCC did not consider the TVC to be misleading and hence not in contravention of Chapter I of the ASCI Code. This complaint was NOT UPHELD.
